Gold Coast Inn is a family-owned business that was first established by owner Filomena Namua Saucoko on the island of Nanuya Lailai in the Yasawa Island group in Fiji in 1997. It was one of the first backpackers in the North Yasawas. In 1999, the resort was relocated to another part of the island where she built the resort with the help of her husband and co-owner Salayavi Saucoko and family. Both Filomena and Salayavi have a wealth of experience in tourism and hospitality having worked at a 5 star resort with nearly 40 years of experience between them.
The resort now consists of 5 bures or Fijian huts, which can hold 15 people. So expect to get some peace and quite while visiting this resort. The owners have plans to build 2 more bures and a new dining hall in the next year.
Filomena's family is from a village on the Island of Nacula called Nasisili Village. Her great-grandfather was a great warrior from Ra who won, through battle, the islands of Nacula, Turtle Island, Tacewa and the island where their resort is located, Nanuya Lailai. It was agreed upon by the family that Nanuya Lailai would remain a peaceful paradise where guests can get away from their worries and relax on the beautiful island landscapes.
The resort does offer direct booking discounts. Call or send an email for more information. When contacting the resort, just mention "Lusiana" to receive the discount.
